PARTICIPATE IN THE SEMINAR, FOSTER YOUR CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND WIN THE SCHOLARSHIP AT IUS
Online seminar for Youth to Youth Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights (YYEDCHR) purposefully aims to connect young professionals and the final year high-school students. Young professionals will share their knowledge, skills and experience with the participants on the system of governance, the rule of law, constitutional rights, political participation, democratic citizenship, human rights and freedoms. This online seminar attempts to attract young students from Bosnia and Herzegovina to prepare them for an active and responsible democratic citizenship role in their multiethnic and multicultural societies. The participants will gain an opportunity to relate themselves with the universal democratic, citizenship and human rights principles that were adopted by the Council of Europe in the document Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education (2010). More importantly, online seminar for youth will certainly prepare young people for their active democratic citizenship participation as citizens of the European Union. This online seminar also aims to articulate the importance of the system of governance, the rule of law, constitutional rights, human rights, liberties and freedoms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is still copying with ethnic-nationalism and is in the process of state-building. Therefore, young participants will learn how to respect the state and how to live together as to counter, exclusive ethnic nationalism, extremism, radicalism, xenophobia, discrimination, intolerance, the rise of the right-wing populism and authoritarianism.
The program is designed only to the 4th year high school students in Bosnia and Herzegovina between the ages of 17 and 20.
Certificate of attendance from the organizer, all expenditures are covered by organizer, scholarship opportunities for studying at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). IUS is awarding a total of 19 scholarships (1 x 100%, 3 x 75%, 5 x 50%, 10 x 25) for studying in the SPS and IR Programs at IUS.
All students who take part in the YYEDCHR program will be eligible to apply and sit for scholarship award in SPS and IR Programs at the IUS. The scholarship exam will be based on all eight taught modules and lectures. The exam will be held in the official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
