The Book Club organized by Balkan Youth School 2021 to discuss the esteemed Turkish Historian Prof. Dr. Tufan Gündüz`s valuable work, Alahimanet Bosno - Migracija Bosnjaka na Teritoriju Osmanskog Carstva published by the Yeditepe Publishing House in Turkish for the first time in 2012 (fourth edition in 2021) and in Bosnian in 2016, was conducted under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aliye Fatma Mataracı, Dean of Faculty of Law at Internationsl University of Sarajevo. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aliye Fatma Mataracı is a Historian by PhD focusing on the Late Ottoman Empire in general and on Bosnia and Herzegovina in particular with her current research.
On May 23, 2021 the Balkan Youth School held two-hour lecture entitled Introduction to Turkish by Innovative Language Learning Methods, which was delivered by Ms. Fikreta Fetahović, Turkish language Lecturer at the International University of Sarajevo.
On May, 2, 2021 the Balkan Youth School has continued its program with three-hour lecture entitled: Political Culture, Participation and Representation in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Dr. Emir Hadzikadunic who served as Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to I.R. Iran (2010-2013) and Malaysia (2016-2020). In his professional career, Dr. Hadzikadunic also conducted consultancy work for the EU, UNDP, OSCE and USAID during their peace building missions in B&H. Dr. Hadzikadunic pursued his academic and research interests in the field of foreign policy and foreign policy analysis. His academic experience includes lecturing and guest lecturing at the International University of Sarajevo and other universities in South East Europe, Malaysia and Singapore. He has also written for academic journals and media outlets, authored two books, and co-authored other publications, many of whom treated the question of political culture in post-Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On 9 May 2021, Dr. Sci. Sedad Bešlija from the Institute of History of University of Sarajevo introduced his book “İstimâlet - Bosna u osmanskoj političkoj strategiji: 15. i 16. Stoljeće” to the BYS participants.
On 8 May 2021, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mirzana Pašić Kodrić, held a seminar The “Practical Skills for Literary and Cultural Creative Writing”, as a part of the Balkan Youth School. Professor Pašić Kodrić teaches literature at the University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Education (Head of the Department of preschool education) and Spoken Bosnian language at International University of Sarajevo. Her literary work has been translated into different languages such as English, Arabic, Turkish etc.
On Sunday, 25 April 2021, the Balkan Youth School (BYS) has continued its program with two-hour lecture as a part of the Turkish language course “Introduction to Turkish by Innovative Language Learning Methods”, which was delivered by Ms. Fikreta Fetahović, Turkish language Lecturer at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS).
On 24 April 2021, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ervin Kovačević, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FENS) of at the International University of Sarajevo, held a workshop “Practical Techniques and Skills for Academic Writing” as a part of the Balkan Youth School (BYS).
