The Relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey with an Emphasis on Economic Cooperation

Balkan Studies Center organized a lecture titled “The Relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey with an Emphasis on Economic Cooperation”, in the main amphitheater of the International University of Sarajevo, as part of its lecture series, on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Dr. Selmo Cikotić, Director of the BIGMEV Foundation in Sarajevo was distinguished guest lecturer at this event. Coordinator of the Balkan Studies Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Çaksu welcomed the distinguished guests in audience. 

Dr. Cikotić, Director of the BIGMEV Foundation in Sarajevo, presented the work of the organization and explained the importance of having this kind of organization in our country, as well as previous experiences in connecting entrepreneurs from Bosnia and Turkey. “Economic cooperation between BiHand the Republic of Turkey has practically no limit. Due to the growing dimension of the major Turkish economy, the most interesting branches for cooperation are those in which the economy of BiH can offer most "- said Dr. SelmoCikotić.

The lecturer was also former Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Professor at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Sarajevo. He was a member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Military Attache of BiH in Washington (United States of America).

IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Vice Rector for General Affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhamed Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences(FENS), Prof. Dr. Fuat Gürcan, as well as other professors and students who attended the lecture.
