Seminar held - A Female Leadership in the Framework of Crisis Management

On 13 March 2021, Prof. Dr. Emel Topçu, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Administration of at the International University of Sarajevo, held a seminar “A Female Leadership in the Framework of Crisis Management” as a part of the Balkan Youth School (BYS).

The seminar started with an introductory explanation of the ORID Method, and continued with interactive session on leadership and perception of leaders throughout history and nowadays. Professor Topçu shared a presentation on female leaders and barriers they face while being in charge, and also gave a brief historical review of most popular leaders. The seminar ended an explanatory case study of leaders and leaderships in context of migrant crisis which paved a way for discussion between participants and healthy exchange of opinions.

The Balkan Youth School is an educational platform in the humanities, social and religious sciences. The study program is organized through modules, providing basic knowledge of history, human rights, international relations, political theories and issues, socio-political and religious issues, Ottoman history, arts and architecture, genocide studies, leadership and political thought.

The project is being implemented by the Balkan Studies Center of the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) and supported by The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
